MiTek Ultra-Span® structural products (profiles, brackets, and joiners) are made from light-gauge Galvanised (200g/m2) steel coil with thickness varying from 0.5mm to 2.0mm.

Ultra-Span® roof structures as designed using MiTek provided Pamir software design packages – in strict accordance with all relevant aspects of SANS 10162-2:2011 (South African National Standards) The Structural use of Steel --- “Part 2: Cold-formed steel structures”, as well as SANS 10160 The general procedures and Loadings --- “Loading Code”.
Ultra-Span® has been approved by the NHBRC as a construction material for roof trusses and the design software has been audited and accepted by SASFA.
All steel utilised by MiTek in the production of Ultra-Span® products is sourced from reputable steel companies and complies with Mittal internal Specification Grade ISQ 300 (0.95mm – 1.2mm material), Grade ISQ 550-3T (0.5mm – 0.8mm material), Grade EN10346 S280GD (1.6mm -1.9mm material) which guarantees a minimum material property YS (Yield Strength) of 300Mpa for ISQ300, YS of 550Mpa for ISQ 550 and YS of 280Mpa for EN10346 S280GD material. Mill certificates for the material are available on request.
This material conforms to the requirements of SANS 517:2009 Light Steel frame Building.
All steel utilized is galvanized with a coating of (200g/m2) --- which carries a 50-year warranty from the supplier when appropriately installed.
All the MiTek provided screws for fixing Ultra-Span® materials comply with the corrosion resistance “coating class” “C2”or “C3” (as per SANS 1273).
